CHEN Zhenyu, born in December 1973, holds a Master's degree and is a senior engineer. He currently serves as Director and Party Branch Secretary of State Grid (Jiangsu) Power Demand Side Management Instruction Center Co., Ltd. and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Power Demand Side Management. He also holds concurrent positions including External Supervisor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University; Deputy Secretary-General of the Power Demand Side Management and Electrification Branch of China Electricity Council; and Deputy Director of the Virtual Power Plant Professional Committee of Jiangsu Electrotechnical Society.
Academic Background
He graduated from Zhejiang University in 1995,with a major in Industrial Electrical Automation, possessing a solid foundation in electric power and electrical engineering. He later obtained an MBA degree from Hohai University, forming an integrated knowledge system that combines electrical technology with business and management expertise.
Professional Experience
He has long been engaged in power marketing and power demand side management. His previous roles include Director of the Demand Side Management Center at State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company, Deputy Director of the Marketing Department of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd. and General Manager of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. He has extensive theoretical research and practical experience in power marketing services, load management, promotion of power energy-saving technologies, and vehicle-grid interaction. He has led and participated in numerous scientific and technological projects sponsored by provincial power companies, State Grid Corporation of China and national key R&D programs, focusing on source-grid-load-storage integration, friendly load-grid interaction, and vehicle-grid interaction, with multiple project achievements receiving awards.
Main Research Direction
His main research directions are power demand side management(DSM), source-grid interaction, Research and Development(R&D) of new charging and swapping equipment, load management, vehicle-grid interaction, integrated energy efficiency,etc. He has published 57 academic papers in topelectrical engineering journals such as Proceedings of the CSEE, with total downloads nearing 9,000. He has led major national key R&D projects including Friendly Supply-Demand Interaction System for Urban End-Users and Power Grid and Research on Efficient Collaborative Charging and Swapping Operation Decision-Making Technologies and Comprehensive Demonstration. He has led the formulation of the group standard Technical Specifications for Alternating Current(AC) Ordered Electric Vehicle(EV) Chargers issued by Jiangsu Electric Power Industry Association. He has also participated in R&D projects such as Key Technologies and Applications of EV Cluster Regulation for Green Power Consumption and R&D of Key Technologies and Equipment for Large-Scale Deployment of New Energy Vehicle Charging Piles. His research outcomes have received multiple honors, including the Special Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from State Grid Corporation of China, the Special Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd. and the First-Class Award of the Power Innovation Prize from China Electricity Council.
