With the promotion of clean energy, capacity adequacy is playing a more important role in the grid. However, the capacity market mechanism has not been fully developed in China. By analysing the current status of capacity market research at home and abroad, the definition and rules of capacity adequacy are determined, and the clearing model of capacity market is established with reference to foreign practical experience of PJM. In order to play the advantages of demand response in the market, the characteristics of the capacity market is considered and a bidding strategy for demand response in the capacity market is designed.
