Aiming at the problem of potential local market power in power market, the behavior of the units which exercise market power in the transmission congestion cases is simulated in the day-ahead power market simulation platform. Based on market power evaluation indices, a comprehensive local market power monitoring method is proposed, which can identify the potential local market power in power market effectively. Finally, numerical simulations illustrate that this method can identify the key units and prevent the potential local market power.
