Abstract:In order to coordinate power supply and demand and solve the trust problem between energy suppliers and customers, as an Internet technology featuring decentralization, openness, transparency and nontampering, blockchain has gradually been regarded as an effective mean to support energy transactions. Under this background, the feasibility of blockchain technology’s application to the energy sector is analyzed, existing application engineering scenarios in European and American countries are summarized and blockchain application to energy challenges and problems are discussed. Considering the domestic policy and present energy development situation, the prospect of blockchain technology application to our country energy sector is discussed.
